Letters to Mary Shelley from William Godwin
After the news of Percy Shelley's death, William Godwin wrote to Mary, his daughter. After being separated and on non-speaking terms for nearly four years, Godwin hoped to rekindle his relationship with his daughter by sympathizing and encouraging, on a level, to indulge in returning to London. The lebtter addresses a connection between Godwin and Mary, which eventually does bring the two back together, as she had always been devoted to him.
